Our Story

2019 - 2021

The beginning

In 2019, the three founders join forces to offer a platform for calculating and comparing different charging prices in Europe. Chargeprice.app was launched in the DACH region and 10,000 electric vehicle drivers use it every month.

In March 2020, Chargeprice was founded. New markets were added: France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland. The first application was launched on Android, and the number of monthly users doubled to 20,000.

In 2021, the Chargeprice team integrated new countries: Spain and the United Kingdom. A first market analysis tool for mobility professionals, the Data Platform, was launched. The iOS application was launched and the monthly number of users reached 50,000.

The growth

Chargeprice continues its massive data management efforts at European scale. Chargeprice offers data on 500 EVs and allows the calculation of charging rates on more than 450,000 charging points.

New countries are launched: Italy and Portugal.

Several industry professionals have called on Chargeprice to complete their databases and analyze the different charging price markets in Europe.

2023

New services for drivers

New features for private EV drivers were launched, including a Premium account giving access to the “My best charging card” service and the ability to personalize one’s portfolio of charging cards.

Users could also receive push notifications and be informed of the best offers. Charging stations now display their live status, and users can share their favorite stations from the app.

For professionals, Chargeprice offered new integration and promotion services for charging station networks. At the end of the year, Chargeprice was selected by the Copenhagen Region for the Raptor project.

Consolidation

In 2024, we took another major step by optimizing data management and strengthening interoperability with operators. Price change alerts are now automated.

By transitioning to OCPI 2.2, Chargeprice improves the fluidity and efficiency of the network. The app now gathers over 300,000 drivers and supports more than 1,000 vehicle models.

Chargeprice is also innovating with promotional services to ensure users enjoy simplified and cost-effective charging.

2025

Redesign

In April 2025, Chargeprice launched a new version of its mobile applications, redesigned for an even simpler price search: direct visualization on the map, tariff details based on payment method and vehicle model, management of favorite stations and cards, personalized notifications.

For professionals, a new Data Platform was also launched, providing a macro view of the various European markets.

Chargeprice press kit: brand and data overview

A true European start-up, from EV drivers for EV drivers

While charging our electric cars, we noticed significant price differences between providers. This sparked the idea to start collecting pricing data and led to the development of the first EV charging price comparison tool. And from there, everything took off.

What enables us to maintain high quality across Europe is the truly European nature of our team. Our founders come from France and Austria. Today, our data management team is spread across the continent.
